Going beyond the obvious for solutions others overlook

You have a talent for seeing what others might not, which is the broader impact of infectious disease management. You look beyond details of a situation, capably assess the case, and put forth alternative suggestions to help prevent, manage, and treat infectious diseases hospital-wide. Your proactive approach to solving problems will make you a big part of our success and yours and improve patient experience, operational processes, and better patient outcomes.

You believe opinions are meant to be shared

If you have an opinion, you’re encouraged to share. It’s part of our culture and a big part of our success because we recognize that innovative ideas can come from any level of our organization. The Division of Infectious Disease at our community teaching hospital serves a diverse patient population and seeks a physician to deliver high-quality inpatient and outpatient clinical care in an academic environment. In this specialized role, you will provide complete, comprehensive clinical care to all patients, including diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventative, and healthcare maintenance. The qualified candidate will enjoy a blended role of inpatient and outpatient clinical duties, teaching, and research related to infectious disease; and has the perfect opportunity to receive a faculty appointment at the Icahn School of Medicine commensurate with their credentials. The Department of Medicine supports a large internal medicine residency training program, and significant opportunities exist for clinician educators.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Possess an MD or DO degree
  • Will be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Infectious Diseases
  • Have a desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, changing healthcare atmosphere
  • Is licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of New York
  • Can be just out of fellowship or an experienced physician

Hands-on experience influences many of our most important decisions

We believe that no one knows the ins and outs of everyday jobs better than the people who perform them. That’s why your point of view is respected and considered when decisions need to be made. Your expertise provides important insights about what is working and what can be made better. If you would like your thoughts to help make a real difference in the quality of care we provide, we want to hear from you.
