Join our cancer team at Cedars-Sinai Cancer, a nationally recognized Cancer Center. Ranked by US News & World Report as the #9 Best Hospital in Cancer in 2021-2022, Cedars-Sinai Cancer is seeking a Surgical Oncologist at the Associate Professor level who will focus on general surgical oncology, including gastrointestinal surgery, melanoma, and sarcoma.

Cedars-Sinai Cancer and the Department of Surgery invite applications for candidates at the Associate Professor level. The applicant must have specialized training in surgical oncology, as well as minimally invasive training and experience. Candidates must also be committed to an academic career that combines exceptional, best-in-class patient care with innovative research and a dedication to outstanding teaching of the next generation of surgical oncologists. Successful candidates must be board certified with the American Board of Surgery (ABS) or Board Eligible.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide patient care services with a focus in general surgical oncology, including GI gastrointestinal surgery, melanoma, and sarcoma
  • Participate in the programmatic, clinical, administrative, academic, and research aspects of the Surgical Oncology program with partners in medical and radiation oncology
  • Further develop a surgical oncology clinical research program that extends across our enterprise health system
  • Develop new and innovative research programs that will serve to improve cancer outcomes
  • Conceive, prepare, and submit grant and contract proposals as principal investigator to support a cancer research program
  • Obtain extramural funding for research projects and/or clinical trials
  • Participate in center activities including speaking engagements, committee appointments, and public or community outreach opportunities
  • Participate and contribute to the education and teaching initiatives of Cedars-Sinai Cancer

Position Requirements:

  • MD degree required
  • Board Certification by American Board of Surgery in General Surgery and General Complex Surgical Oncology
  • Published author of peer-reviewed articles and/or proven abilities to serve as principal investigator
  • A track record of excellence in clinical research, teaching, patient care, and administration
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and mentorship skills
  • A collaborative style that fosters and supports teamwork and innovation
