The Department of Plastic Surgery at Cleveland Clinic has a full time faculty position opening for a Professor, Assistant or Associate Professor. The successful candidate will be joining a vibrant and active plastic surgical group for the care of melanoma and high risk skin cancer as well as other aspects of soft tissue oncology . This will include head-to-toe skin cancer extirpative surgery, lymph node dissection and sentinel node biopsies, and the ability to perform a variety of reconstructive techniques especially for post-Mohs defects. The ideal candidate will also have a background in reconstructive microsurgery especially in the head and neck and extremities. The high risk skin cancer program works within a matrix of protocols studying clinical outcomes, clinical trials and basic science research. These areas are all academic opportunities a successful candidate will be encouraged to explore and engage in. There is also opportunity for appropriate physician-scientists.

Cleveland Clinic is ranked as the #2 hospital in the US and the Taussig cancer center is ranked #5, this is important as the successful candidate will be working within the cancer center.

Candidates must have completed an accredited BC/BE Plastic Surgery training program and ideally have advanced Fellowship training in microsurgery.

The successful candidate will be dynamic and collaborative as they will have opportunities in program building and working in a multidisciplinary manner with colleagues in numerous specialties. The candidate will join a vibrant practice led by an experience melanoma surgeon that will also provide guidance and/or mentorship. A focus on teaching and an interest in participating in active research programs are also desired as we sponsor an ACGME accredited Plastic Surgery training program.

The Department of Plastic Surgery includes 18 plastic surgeons, an integrated plastic surgery residency of 19 residents and a post graduate microsurgery fellowship with two fellows. Our specialists have significant experience and expertise in all areas of aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery, especially in the areas of facial cosmetic surgery, cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery, pediatric craniofacial surgery, upper extremity surgery, reconstructive microsurgery, and plastic surgery research.
