NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan , located on First Avenue & 97 th Street in Manhattan, accommodate over 313,000 outpatient visits, nearly 70,000 emergency room visits and more than 13,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital maintains an academic affiliation with New York Medical College.

Responsibilities:

Assist ophthalmic providers in working-up and preparing patients for eye exams in a fast-paced, high patient volume hospital setting.
Perform visual fields, OCTs, fundus photos, fluorescein angiography, and other auxiliary ophthalmic imaging
Assist clinic in optimizing patient flow and patient management
All other duties as assigned under supervision of departmental leadership

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalency.
At least one year of experience in a healthcare environment (student, intern, or volunteer experience will be considered).
Working knowledge or willingness to learn ophthalmic medical terminology, usage of imaging equipment, and other ophthalmic testing.
Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, and strong attention to detail and documentation.
Formal ophthalmic training preferred, but not required.
Spanish speaking preferred, but not required.
