Job Requirements:
The candidate should have completed training and be BC/BE in pediatric critical care medicine, or pediatric critical care medicine with additional advanced training in pediatric cardiac critical care, or dual boarded in both pediatric critical care medicine and pediatric cardiology. The candidate will join a committed multidisciplinary team of intensivists, cardiologists, and neonatologists as a member of the division of pediatric critical care medicine. The candidate will also have full clinical as well as other academic responsibilities including research and teaching of residents, fellows, and nurse practitioners. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.  

Job Description:
Cohen Children’s Medical Center in New Hyde Park, NY is seeking an experienced pediatric cardiac intensivist. Academic appointment at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The candidate will join a group of 7 pediatric cardiac intensivists to staff the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit. The candidate will join the division of pediatric critical care medicine, with approximately 15 pediatric intensivists. Our 25-bed quaternary mixed ICU admits 2,600 children per year, including a growing number of complex congenital heart disease. Our two cardiothoracic surgeons perform a growing number of cardiac surgeries of all complexities, with the plans to develop a full heart failure and transplant program. This endeavor will enjoy support from an expanding group of cardiologists. Cardiac catheterization is done in our recently opened, state-of-the-art pediatric cardiac catheterization lab. The CICU is staffed by both pediatric critical care and pediatric cardiology fellows as well as pediatric residents. Care of cardiac patients is supported by a large multidisciplinary team including dedicated cardiac-trained nursing staff, social worker, and pharmacist.

Cohen Children’s Medical Center is the large children’s hospital for the Northwell Health System, NY’s largest healthcare provider, representing 23 hospitals and greater than 100 outpatient facilities in the metropolitan NY area. It is also the primary pediatric teaching facility for the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. Multiple and varied research and academic opportunities are available through the school of medicine as well as the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, the highly successful and supportive research institute at Northwell Health.

This will be a full-time faculty position at the level commensurate with the candidate’s experience within the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. Candidates will have the opportunity to teach PICU and Cardiology fellows, pediatric residents, as well as medical students. Support for research, quality improvement, leadership education, and other academic opportunities are also available.

Salary Disclosure

Full-time clinical base compensation at Northwell Health ranges from $125K to $750K, which is impacted by various factors, including but not limited to physician specialty, level of experience, quality of care, academic accomplishments, patient experience and productivity. The base compensation range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
