ABOUT THE POSITION

The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Louisville School of Medicine is seeking a Gastroenterologist/Transplant Hepatologist to join a diverse clinical and academic practice and participate in research including multiple NIH grants, and two NIH Center grants. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor level, depending on qualifications and experience. Qualified candidates must be board certified/board eligible in Hepatology and eligible for an unrestricted Kentucky medical license. The successful candidate will be expected to serve as attending for the general hepatology and liver transplant service and possess excellent teaching and clinical skills. The School of Medicine has medical students at each level, and the division faculty are actively engaged in the training of these medical students, medical residents, and GI fellows.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaching

Time and effort dedicated to the teaching of medical students, graduate students, residents, fellows, nursing personnel, and colleagues.

Service

Will interact with the surgical transplant chair, and division directors and department chairs for the development and implementation of plans for growth in Hepatology, including Transplant Hepatology.

Clinical

Will see inpatients and outpatients with various chronic liver disorders.

Research

Will participate in clinical trials.
