The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) and University of Washington (UW) Division of Hematology are recruiting a full-time clinical faculty member (1.0 FTE) who focuses on nonmalignant hematology for appointment at the Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor rank, commensurate with experience, and with an annual service period of 12 months (July 1-June 30). It is expected that the faculty member would teach medical students, residents, and fellows, and would help support clinical and translational research. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. Position will remain open until filled.

The Practice:

  • Employee of a highly ranked academic medical center
  • Focus only on non-malignant hematology
  • Limited inpatient coverage – typically with assistance from a fellow or APP
  • Cover no more than 6 weekends per year
  • Very little night call (phone only)
  • Option to work partly from home (e.g. telehealth visits and e-consults)

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants are required to have a MD (or foreign equivalent) and be board-eligible for oncology or hematology (or foreign equivalent).

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B Visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
