Primary Care Physician (Cambridge Public Health Commission d/b/a Cambridge Health Alliance; Somerville, Massachusetts): The Primary Care Physician is responsible for the care and treatment of patients. The qualified individual is responsible for the initial evaluation of the patient including complete physical examination and write-up and ordering of appropriate diagnostic tests and interpretation of results.

Specifically, the Primary Care Physician is responsible for the following: Providing inpatient and outpatient care in medical wards, acute care units, rehabilitation centers, or emergency rooms; managing and coordinating patient care throughout treatment; communicating with staff physician regarding the ongoing therapeutic management of the patient; performing diagnostic and therapeutic considerations with the patient and their family; ordering and interpreting test results, such as laboratory tests and radiographs; and conducting discharge planning and discharge patients. Must be willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed.

Minimum requirements: Medical Degree and Board Certification or Eligibility in Primary Care; eligibility for full and unrestricted medical license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; must be able to meet employer credentialing standards.
