Medical Service - Nephrologist

The VA Loma Linda Healthcare System is a Joint Commission accredited, complexity level 1a facility serving over 76,000 unique Veterans in San Bernardino, Riverside, and Inyo Counties of Southern California. The Healthcare System operates 159 inpatient beds and a Community Living Center (Nursing Home) with 110 beds. In addition to the Medical Center, VA Loma Linda Healthcare System consists of Ambulatory Care Center, five contracted community clinics and one Telehealth clinic. In fiscal year 2020, with a medical care budget more than $686 million and over 3,000 employees, VALLHCS outpatient clinics logged more than a 900,000 outpatient visits, 1.1 million unduplicated encounters, providing over 63,000 total bed days of care and completed 7,000 total admissions. We are seeking a clinical educator to join our collegial group of nephrologists in providing outstanding patient care for our Veterans. The applicant should be board certified in Nephrology and Internal Medicine. Responsibilities include full scope of nephrology practice with supervision of internal medicine residents, nephrology fellows, and students. The successful candidate would be managing our diverse Veteran population for in-center and home hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, continuous renal replacement therapy, kidney transplant, apheresis, and other procedures. Night and weekend calls, including fellow supervision, are shared equally among nephrologists in the section. Completion of advanced training in research methodology is highly desirable. VALLHS is affiliated with the Loma Linda University School of Medicine and faculty appointment commensurate with level of experience and achievement is expected. We have strong collaborative relationships with the Division of Nephrology at Loma Linda University Medical Center in our ACGME-accredited fellowship program.
