We are seeking a staff physician who will report to the Chief of Gastroenterology. The applicant Duties would include but are not limited to outpatient clinic consultations and follow-up appointments, inpatient consultations, education of gastroenterology fellows, medical residents and students. Diagnosing, treating, and managing patients referred for management of gastrointestinal disease is the main focus of the position. There would be some need to diagnose and manage patients with acute and chronic liver disease. They will perform endoscopic procedures and cares for patients in the outpatient clinic and inpatient setting with procedural duties that will include performing diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower endoscopy procedures (including PEG placement and esophageal dilation). Also, performing histories and physical examinations, endoscopy consultations, virtual visits (telehealth) and developing treatment and follow up plans. Further, performing advanced therapeutic procedures for patients who have gastroesophageal reflux disease, Barrett’s esophagus, small bowel disease, inflammatory bowel disease and pancreatobiliary disease would be plus, but is not required. The successful candidate will ideally also qualify for a potential academic appointment at Loma Linda University and University of California Riverside and additional clinical, teaching, research, and administrative responsibilities are possible. They will also have an affiliation with two robust ACGME-accredited fellowship training programs in gastroenterology / hepatology provides ample teaching opportunities.
