Dukes Division of Hematology within the Department of Medicine has a primary focus on non-malignant Hematologic disease. Our clinical sites and research programs are expanding, and we are actively seeking additional junior to mid-career faculty members interested in being part of Dukes vibrant Hematology Division. Key clinical and research strengths within Duke Hematology include programs in Hemostasis & Thrombosis, Cytopenias, Myeloproliferative Neoplasms, Apheresis, and Sickle Cell Disease.

We are seeking faculty members with a focus on clinical practice. Hired physicians can choose to see patients on Dukes main academic campus, or else in our thriving community-based Hematology-Oncology practice in highly-desired Raleigh, NC. With either setting, physicians with a passion for clinical, educational and/or research are encouraged to apply. Teaching opportunities are available across the spectrum of learners, including Hematology/Oncology fellows, interns, Internal Medicine residents and medical students.

Several unique opportunities are available within the Division, if so desired:
  • Ability to grow current clinical and translational research programs to complement the basic science research programs
  • Participation in the apheresis service; a robust clinical research program
  • Involvement with the clinical laboratory services ( Coagulation and Platelet Antibody Laboratories, and the Transfusion Service )

Access to the Hemostasis & Thrombosis Core Laboratory in support of research efforts interfacing with Pediatrics and other interdisciplinary collaborations, including a transition clinic with pediatrics for patients with sickle cell disease, a shared clinic with maternal fetal medicine
