Medical Director, Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant
ABOUT THE POSITION
The University of Louisville Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is seeking an experienced, board-certified advanced heart failure cardiologist to join our cardiology faculty and lead the advanced heart failure/transplant/VAD section. Qualified candidates should have a minimum of three years clinical experience and be board certified in Advanced Heart Failure cardiology.
The successful applicant will participate in all aspects of the Advanced Heart Failure clinical service including inpatient and outpatient settings. Responsibilities also include teaching, mentoring, and research. Demonstrated leadership experience is preferred.
The Ventricular Assist Device program is internationally recognized and has enrolled in all the major VAD/MCS trials. UofL Health - Jewish Hospital, is federally designated to perform heart, lung, kidney, liver, and pancreas transplants. It is one of only a small percentage of hospitals in the United States approved to perform all five solid organ transplants. In addition, it has one of the few composite tissue transplant programs in the US.
