Cleveland Clinic Florida, is seeking a Regional Institute Chair for the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Institute (PLMI) for the Florida region and Chair of the Robert J. Tomsich Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Department in Weston, Florida. This combined leadership position will be based at the Cleveland Clinic Florida Weston campus located in South Florida.

The PLMI includes 11 physicians providing care to 5 hospitals (Indian River, Martin Health and Weston) throughout five counties, providing comprehensive pathology and laboratory services.

The Clinical Lab in Weston provides comprehensive services that include hematopathology, transfusion medicine, microbiology, biochemistry, molecular pathology for infectious diseases, and immunology. Flow cytometry services for diagnosis and monitoring of hematological malignancies will be operational in the near future The Departments Staff has extensive experience in research and knowledge development.

Duties and responsibilities of the new Chair will be to provide leadership for the regional Institute and Department in Weston, facilitate best in class laboratory diagnostics services, oversight of business review and general operations, department organization, fiduciary matters, quality and safety, recruitment, and retention and mentoring of medical staff, administrators, educators and researchers. The Chair is responsible for enhancing the important academic and research mission of the Institute. This leader will work with local, regional, and enterprise stakeholders to ensure that best practices from across the Cleveland Clinic Florida region are incorporated. The ideal candidate for the position should hold an MD or MD/PhD and be board certified by the American Board of Pathology. The ideal candidate should have reputation for clinical excellence, and be well versed in laboratory operations and finance. The Chair will have ultimate responsibility for the clinical, educational, research and financial success and development of the institute.
