The Providence Cancer Institute and Earle A. Chiles Research Institute is seeking a full-time board-certified Thoracic Surgeon-Scientist to join its world class team of lung cancer specialists and researchers in Portland, Oregon. With an academic appointment in the Research Institute, you'll help cultivating basic and translational science collaboration at the individual, team, and multidisciplinary levels. Responsibilities will include optimization of the clinical and basic research infrastructure within the Division to conduct clinical trials, government funded, and industry sponsored investigations. Preference will be given to applicants with an established publication and funding record. Qualified candidates will have fellowship training or a strong background and interest in the care of patients with benign and malignant diseases of the lungs, chest wall, pleural space, and mediastinum. The practice offers a full spectrum of robotic and endoscopic procedures of the lungs and esophagus, as well as dilation and stenting procedures. This position benefits from a built-in referral base from an extensive network of primary care clinics within Oregon and Southwest Washington.
