The Duke Department of Pediatrics invites applications for a faculty position at the Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor level in the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes. Candidates should have strong clinical and/or research interests in pediatric endocrinology or diabetes mellitus. Candidates must hold an MD or MD/PhD degree and must be board certified or board eligible in pediatric endocrinology by the American Board of Pediatrics.
Clinical responsibilities will be tailored to the expertise and interests of the candidate and will include patient care, teaching, and consultative services as a pediatric endocrinologist and diabetes provider. The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology currently includes five full-time faculty members and three fellows involved in clinical care and research activities. Our endocrine service provides high-quality multidisciplinary care in diverse areas including gender care, lipid metabolism, thyroid cancer, metabolic bone disease, and types 1 and 2 diabetes mellitus. We have a busy outpatient diabetes mellitus practice, with over 700 patients in our Raleigh, Apex, and Durham offices. Our mission is to provide excellence in clinical care, to promote patient safety, to facilitate growth and advancement in the areas of training and education, and to pursue research in pediatric diabetes and endocrinology. Our division is nationally ranked among pediatric endocrinology and diabetes centers, and has won the departmental teaching award two times in the last four years. We have strong ties to and ongoing research collaborations with other divisions and departments within Duke University and its medical center, including the Duke Molecular Physiology Institute [https://dmpi.duke.edu] and the Duke Clinical Research Institute [https://dcri.org]. Opportunities for collaborative research are strongly encouraged.
