The Duke University Department of Pathology is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the faculty of the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory and ACGME-accredited Medical Microbiology Fellowship training program.
The successful candidate will serve as a Director of one or multiple laboratory sections, depending on expertise, and work closely with the other faculty to advance the clinical, research, and educational mission of the Duke Clinical Microbiology Laboratory and Duke Health. This is a non-tenure track position with academic rank and salary based on experience.
The candidate must have an M.D., Ph.D., or M.D. / Ph.D and be board-certified or board-eligible in Medical Microbiology by either the American Board of Pathology or American Board of Medical Microbiology. Expertise in bacteriology, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, or molecular diagnostics including next generation sequencing are particularly sought. Post-fellowship clinical laboratory leadership experience is preferred. Candidates should have a demonstrated record of academic achievement through independent or collaborative research and scholarly publications, or have an interest in pursuing academic activities. Experience with clinical trials and clinical / translational research is beneficial.
