Assistant/Associate Professor of Medicine at the CUIMC

Barnard College in partnership/collaboration with Columbia Primary Care, seeks a Board Certified Internist or Family Physician for the position of Vice President for Health and Wellness, Chief Health Officer, a joint appointment at Barnard and the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University.

The VP for H&W/CHO will be a key senior advisor to the Barnard President and senior staff on matters of community health and wellness; disease management and critical public health issues and preparedness, as well as a practicing Primary Care Physician with Columbia Primary Care.

This is a 60% campus-based appointment reports to the Barnard President and a 40% ColumbiaDoctors-based appointment that reports to the Senior Leadership at ColumbiaDoctors. This position includes an academic appointment at the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University where the incumbent will serve as a primary care physician and Columbia faculty member with Columbia Primary Care

An inaugural position, the VP for H&W/CHO will oversee and enhance both student and faculty health and wellness, as well as enhance undergraduate medical research opportunities for Barnard students at NewYork-Presbyterian Columbia University Irving Medical Center, and the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University to create pathways to medical school and graduate school in the health and wellness fields. In this unique position, the selected individual will serve as a liaison to NewYork-Presbyterian Columbia University Irving Medical Center for collaboration between these world-renowned institutions.

Minimum Degree Required: MD degree or equivalent.

Minimum Qualifications: Must be board certified/eligible in Internal Medicine and/or Family Medicine and eligible to practice in the State of New York.
