Nationally ranked Swedish Cancer Institute (SCI) is searching for a board-certified, fellowship-trained Breast Surgeon to become medical director of its renowned Breast Program. The ideal candidate is a collaborative clinician with outstanding leadership skills who can implement and advance the SCI's ambitious vision of multidisciplinary breast- and women's-cancer care within a cutting-edge, COC-certified program. SCI is devoted to providing cancer patients with the most comprehensive treatment options and innovative therapies available, and is the largest NCI designated NCORP site, with over 41 participating affiliates across multiple states for this 13 million, six-year grant. In 2019, Swedish was awarded a "Platinum Certificate of Excellence" for Treatment & Cancer Control Trials high enrollment. Partnering with leaders in Radiation Oncology and clinical researchers in Medical Oncology, the medical director will advance compassionate and efficient care across the multi-site institute within the Swedish system and will engage with the broader Providence Health System to advance excellence in breast cancer care. SCI has a well-established legacy of comprehensive expertise and compassionate care of cancer patients and their families, while producing cutting-edge clinical and translational research. The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with experience in building and growing programs, nurturing colleagues and succeeding within a complex health system. This world-class program exists within the vibrant city of Seattle, Washington where physicians can enjoy a healthy work-life balance.
  • 7+ years of post-fellowship experience required
  • Completion of a Breast Surgical Oncology fellowship required
  • Advanced leadership (business or healthcare) degree preferred
  • The position includes both clinical and administrative duties
  • Large-volume program within a well-established cancer center
  • Fully staffed with highly skilled medical experts in a full array of pertinent specialties
  • Successful research program with a large registry and database
