The Center for Neurological Restoration at the Cleveland Clinic main campus is searching for a doctoral level methodologist to collaborate with researchers in the Center for Neurological Restoration and its collaborators within the Neurological Institute as a part of a growing team. The successful candidate will join an active group of about 11 headache specialists, 14 movement disorders specialists, a Center Biostatistician, a research manager, along with 21 research coordinators, working in a wide range of clinical areas and statistical methodologies. Candidates should have considerable experience collaborating on clinical research in an academic health care setting, with examples of creative analytic approaches to complex problems in health care through proven records of collaborative publications. Excellent academic writing and communication skill must be clearly demonstrated, with verbal proficiency in the English language required.

Successful candidates must have excellent written and verbal skills with the ability and desire to conduct both collaborative and methodologic research. Successful candidates should also demonstrate an interest in developing databases to help catalogue and characterize disease state. A doctoral degree with expertise in biostatistics, outcomes research, predictive modeling, biomarker development, or a related discipline and a strong desire to obtain internal and external funding and publish journal articles are required. Experience working with large databases and/or patient-reported data is preferred. Expectations include the presentation and publication of collaborative papers utilizing clinically-derived electronic datasets, including the electronic medical record and CNR initiatives in collecting patient entered data/questionnaires, cognitive and motor biomeasures, and disease-specific scale on all patients with headache, parkinsonism and other neurodegenerative disorders. A major area of focus will be neurological disease (in particular headache/migraine and facial pain, Parkinson disease and other neurodegenerative movement disorders), a significant contributor to morbidity and mortality throughout the world. The level of appointment will be commensurate with experience of the candidate and may be at the full, associate, or assistant level. This is a 'hard money' position with no explicit requirements to obtain salary support. Masters level statistician support will be provided. Data manipulation and questionnaire programming support will also be provided. Minimal formal teaching is expected.

Job Requirements
  • PhD in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Outcomes Research, Predictive Modeling, Biomarker Development or related discipline.
  • Experience as a consultant, project leader in a collaborative clinical setting.
  • Proven record of methodological and data analysis knowledge in the areas of longitudinal (linear, non-linear) modeling; and success in outcomes research publications and grant funding are a plus
  • Proven record of knowledge in the area of analytical methods for observational clinical outcomes data
