OB Hospitalist – South Shore University Hospital
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwell Health’s South Shore University Hospital is seeking a dynamic Board Certified/Board Eligible OB Hospitalist to join the Department of OB/GYN as we expand our Women’s Health services across the health system. Obstetric and gynecologic care at South Shore University Hospital is provided by board-certified, subspecialty-trained doctors including hospitalists, obstetricians, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, gynecologists, urogynecologists, minimally invasive gynecologic surgeons, gynecologic oncologists, perinatologists, reproductive endocrinologists, and family planning specialists.
South Shore University Hospital is the eastern most tertiary hospital for Northwell Health, located 30 miles east of NYC in Bay Shore, New York. This 305-bed hospital is rapidly growing in size with plans to potentially expand to over four hundred beds. Comprising 2,500 deliveries per year, South Shore University Hospital has become a regional destination for high-quality care on Suffolk County’s south shore. The hospital is in the middle of an extensive renovation, creating the Northwell Health’s Women and Infant’s Center at South Shore University Hospital due to open in 2022. The renovation will contain 29 private postpartum rooms, a 16-bay neonatal intensive care unit, dedicated state-of-the-art GYN operating rooms, and a fully renovated labor and delivery unit. South Shore University Hospital is an important academic teaching center for the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, providing residencies and fellowships in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal Fetal Medicine.
