The Department of Cardiovascular Medicine and the Cardiovascular Research Center at Mayo Clinic are seeking a Clinician Investigator with expertise in novel therapeutics, to join the Cardiovascular Medicine team in Rochester, MN. This institutionally-funded physician-investigator position includes a minimum of 50% protected time for research and significant intramural support.

The Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN is part of the Enterprise Cardiovascular Department across all Mayo Clinic sites. The Department of CV Medicine and the CV Research Center partners with several centers within Mayo Clinic, including the Center for the Science of Health Care Delivery, the Center for Regenerative Medicine, the Center for Clinical and Translational Science, and the Center for Individualized Medicine. We are seeking a mid-career board-certified/eligible MD or MD/PhD physician investigator with the academic rank of Associate Professor or Professor with an independent research program currently supported by NIH and extramural funding. A track record of innovation in the space of novel therapeutics (devices and/or biologics/drugs) for cardiovascular diseases is expected in the successful candidate. The individual should have experience in translational science, practice transformation, intellectual property development and commercialization. The clinician investigator should also have experience designing and conducting the full range of clinical trials utilizing novel therapeutics. The investigator must embody a collaborative spirit and demonstrate productive interactions with peer physicians, scientists, providers, and allied health staff.
