Job Details

The Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (CHaD) and Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth Seek a Board Certified or Eligible Pediatric Pulmonologist

CHaD is the pediatric service of Dartmouth-Hitchcock (D-H), an integrated academic healthcare delivery system for northern New England, anchored in Lebanon, New Hampshire at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC), recognized by US News & World Report as the Best Hospital in NH. DHMC is also home to the NCI-designated Norris Cotton Cancer Center and the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice (TDI). CHaD maintains an inpatient pediatric unit with PICU and a level III NICU at DHMC and a comprehensive ambulatory specialty center at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Clinic in Manchester, the largest city in the state.

The Section of Pediatric Pulmonology provides a full range of services at DHMC and D-H Manchester, including busy clinics for the New Hampshire Cystic Fibrosis Center at both locations. The candidate will be based at DHMC, joining a multidisciplinary clinical team that serves patients from NH and adjacent Vermont for pediatric pulmonary diseases, but will also be expected to see patients with colleagues in Manchester.

Excellence in teaching residents and medical students is expected. Eligibility for academic appointment at The Geisel School of Medicine is therefore required, at a rank commensurate with experience and academic portfolio. Opportunities for collaboration with a strong basic and translational CF research team and participation in clinical trials in CF and asthma exist for the interested candidate, along with health services research at TDI.

D-H provides a rare opportunity to combine high level academic medicine with a serene and stress-free living environment. Lebanon is part of the Upper Connecticut River Valley, home to Dartmouth College and its abundant cultural and enrichment activities. Greater Manchester is often ranked among the best small cities in the United States for quality of life. With destinations like Boston, New York, Montreal, the seacoast and ski country within driving distance, this the ideal place to work and live where others play.

Qualifications:
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatric Pulmonology
  • Must obtain and maintain a medical license in the State of NH

Please submit your CV and Cover Letter addressed to:
Margaret F. Guill, MD
Section Chief, Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine
