The successful candidate will be responsible for test development, validation, and implementation of clinical tests utilizing state-of-the-art liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry platforms with focus in the areas of clinical toxicology, therapeutic drug monitoring, high-resolution mass spectrometry, and targeted proteomics.
The successful applicant has a PhD in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, toxicology, clinical chemistry, or related fields. Candidates must have previous experience with liquid chromatography, high resolution mass spectrometry (e.g. TOF and orbitrap), and triple quadrupole mass spectrometers with a minimum 3 years of experience developing assays in a clinical laboratory environment or diagnostics industry. In addition, the candidate will possess excellent troubleshooting skills as well as excellent written and spoken communication skills. Candidates with experience in immunoassay platforms and previous experience in leadership are preferred.
The Biochemistry Section provides diagnostic and consultative services for the Cleveland Clinic Health System (CCHS) and is the central laboratory for CCHS hospitals in northeast Ohio. Laboratories in the Section include automated chemistry, special chemistry, and immunopathology. The section is supported by 5 medical directors and there are ample opportunities for clinical and translational research, innovation, and teaching students, residents, fellows, and allied health staff.
