Medical Director of Transgender Medicine

The Center for Transgender Care, The Department of Psychiatry, and Northwell Health’s Behavioral Health Service Line is seeking an innovative, passionate Medical Director of Transgender Medicine. The candidate must have an MD or equivalent from an accredited College of Medicine and completion of Psychiatry Residency with Board Certification required. Candidate must be licensed as a physician in the State of New York with strong clinical interest in transgender medicine and preferably have experience in working in a specialty clinic.

This is a unique opportunity to join the leadership team of the Center for Transgender Care. Responsibilities include providing comprehensive services in a culturally competent manner, working to address the health needs of the Trans and Gender Non‐Conforming patients at various stages of the transitioning process. Diversified clinical duties will allow for a unique clinical experience whereby time will be spent in multiple ambulatory settings. Administrative responsibilities include education, supervision of trainees, performance management, process improvement, as well as continuous collaboration with program leaders across the health system and behavioral health service line.
