Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, a National Cancer Institute (NCI) Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, seeks applications from qualified medical oncologists at the Assistant or Associate Professor level for a clinical research position in the new Cancer Immunology and Metabolism Center of Excellence, a $30 million initiative co-directed by Drs. Christian Hinrichs and Eileen White. Candidates with interest in solid tumor oncology and immunotherapy with a background in clinical and translational research, especially including tumor immunology and cellular therapy, are encouraged to apply. The Cancer Immunology and Metabolism Center of Excellence is an innovative, collaborative research environment with robust bench to bedside research. The Cancer Immunology and Metabolism Center of Excellence is a world class cellular therapy program with a focus on investigator initiated and first-in-human cell therapy research that leverages an on-site GMP Cell Manufacturing Facility and Immune Monitoring Center. Qualified candidates must have a MD, or MD/PhD. Rank will be commensurate with experience. Academic appointment will be within the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Faculty are expected to support the educational goals and activities of the School, and as such will be expected to be involved in teaching activities for medical students and residents as well as targeted lectures in their area of expertise. Rutgers Cancer Institute is a cornerstone of New Jersey’s premier academic health center, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS). Construction is currently underway for a new $750 million state-of-the-art Cancer Center adjacent to the current Rutgers Cancer Institute facility and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. The 510,000 square foot Jack and Sheryl Morris Cancer Center will be the state’s first free-standing cancer hospital.
