ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Regional Medical Director to join our organization. This individual will be responsible for the supervision of all aspects of psychiatric care. Through oversight of prescribing clinical staff, the Director will work to ensure that care quality meets or exceeds standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organizational Leadership
  • o Provides general management and oversight of all prescribing clinicians with the support of the respective Regional Medical Director.
  • o Serves as a liaison between division prescribing clinicians, division leadership and the Senior Medical Director to ensure collaboration in the delivery of psychiatric care.
  • o Partners with Senior Medical Director, and regional medical directors to develop and implement management processes affecting the delivery of medical services.
  • o Directs division leadership teams, such as medical services, as well as individual prescribers in executing quality improvement projects.
  • o Serves as Chairperson of the Division Medical Staff Committee and as the Tridiuum outcomes champion for the division.
  • o Serves as Chairperson of the Division Privileging Committee for prescribing clinicians.
  • o Participates in the Division Monthly Operations meeting.
  • Clinical Leadership
  • o Actively participates and collaborates with the division medical services/records manager in the provision of psychiatric are, development and implementation of safe and effective clinical care protocols.
  • o Reviews and approves clinical protocols, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations, accreditation standards, payor requirements, community practice standards, and professional ethics.
  • o Reviews the performance of division prescribing clinicians in conjunction with the respective Regional Medical Director (RMD) to ensure that care provided aligns with division policies and with professional and community standards. This may occur on an ad hoc basis as clinical care issues arise or systematically as part of a clinical auditing process.
  • o Works with the Clinical Compliance Specialist to establish criteria for auditing medical documentation to ensure compliance with division policies, assists in investigating patient complaints through the Ombudsman process, and assists with clinician complaints.
  • o Monitors performance metrics, including clinical outcome measures, to help develop provider-focused and systems-based solutions to improve medical service delivery.
  • o Investigates adverse clinical events to help ensure ongoing high-quality care.
  • o Advocates for management processes to improve clinician efficacy and satisfaction.
  • o Consults with community agencies and outside medical providers to enhance service availability, access, and delivery.
  • o Monitors the quality and appropriateness of referrals sent to and received from outside healthcare organizations to help ensure adequate continuity of care.
  • o Serves as an advisor for division Intensive Outpatient Programs.
  • o Promotes opportunities amongst prescribing clinicians for continuing education and professional development.
  • o Assists in screening, interviewing, and evaluating prospective prescribing clinician candidates.
  • o Assists in the arrangement of psychiatric care coverage when other providers are unavailable.
  • o Provides guidance and support related to any subpoena or legal records request.
  • o Participates in LifeStance Delegated Credentialing Committee.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • · M.D. or D.O. required
  • · 4+ years of residency training
  • · 10+ years of relevant clinical work and leadership experience
  • · Current, unrestricted state license to practice medicine, active DEA registration, and applicable board certification
  • · Familiarity with the Principles of Medical Ethics of the American Medical Association and the Principles of Medical Ethics with Annotations Especially Applicable to Psychiatry
  • · Knowledge of the Joint Commission accreditation standards and HIPAA
  • · Ability to provide formative feedback and have experience with conflict resolution
  • · Excellent time management skills, ability to multitask, attention to detail, self-motivated, and ability to adapt to changes
  • · Demonstrates awareness, inclusivity, sensitivity, humility, and experience in working with individuals from diverse ethnic backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses, sexual orientations, gender identities, and other various aspects of culture

We will provide for relocation for the right Candidate!! This position can be based out of any of our Colorado based office locations!!

We are 25 offices strong and still growing in Colorado, with offices as North as Fort Collins, Boulder County, Greater Denver and, as South as Colorado Springs. We will also be opening an office in Grand Junction this Fall!
