Washington University in St. Louis, the fourth largest employer in the St. Louis area with nearly 18,000 employees, is seeking a dynamic and experienced physician leader to serve as Medical Director of Occupational Health. This is a career defining opportunity to lead
occupational and employee health services for a leading research university with an extensive clinical enterprise.

The Medical Director of Occupational Health will provide strategic leadership in establishing policies, procedures, and guidelines designed to ensure clinical best practices support the university’s occupational and employee health services. The Medical Director is responsible for the provision and medical management of care for work-related injuries or illness, physical examinations, and medical surveillance and prevention. The Medical Director holds an integral leadership position and will work collaboratively across institutional and organizational boundaries to ensure effective public health strategies for employees during emergency settings.

As faculty, the Medical Director will have the opportunity to pursue research, academic scholarship, and teaching in a highly collaborative environment; faculty appointment commensurate with experience.

Qualified candidates will hold an MD or DO degree with 3 to 5 years of experience in occupational medicine or employee health services, be qualified to secure an unrestricted Missouri medical license, and hold board certification in internal medicine, family medicine, emergency medicine, or occupational medicine.
