The University of Virginia Stem Cell Program, Department of Medicine Division of Hematology/Oncology and University of Virginia Cancer Center is seeking a Stem Cell Transplant/Cellular Therapies Program Director. This is open rank, open track, but expected to be at the Associate Professor or Full Professor rank. The UVa Health System offers many opportunities for collaborative clinical and basic research, an active clinical trials program, and is an NCI-designated Clinical Cancer Center. The Program Director will be responsible for ongoing design of the clinical program (quality management, selection and care of patients and donors, clinical research) as well as lead the recruitment of additional faculty members, and the development of a top tier cellular therapy and transplantation program.
The incumbent must be Board-Certified in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology. Expertise in the care of Stem Cell Transplant/Cellular Therapy patients is required. The successful candidate will be accountable for independent clinical research program utilizing the excellent translational research opportunities and resources available at UVa. The successful candidate is expected to be clinically active, attend on inpatient and outpatient services at UVa, and participate in multidisciplinary team care and clinical research within the Cancer Center. In addition, the successful candidate must actively participate in the teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students.
