The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Indiana University School of Medicine is recruiting a full-time Maternal Fetal Medicine provider with fetal intervention training to help establish the first fetal intervention program in the state of Indiana. This program is a joint effort between Maternal Fetal Medicine, Pediatric Surgery, Neonatology and other pediatric subspecialties. The new program will be housed at Riley Maternity and Newborn Health.

The MFM division, currently with 10 full-time MFM faculty members, provides inpatient and outpatient consultation as well as primary comprehensive care of high-risk pregnancies, fetal ultrasound, prenatal diagnosis, and limited invasive fetal treatment (PUBs/IUT). The MFM Division is affiliated with Indiana University Health and Riley Hospital for Children, one of the top children's hospitals in the United States.

The Maternal Fetal Physician group operates as an integrated group serving referring providers at four IU Health System Hospitals throughout the Indianapolis metropolitan area and Eskenazi Health. The combined annual deliveries for the integrated system exceed 19,000. The IU MFM group and the Level IV NICU at Riley also serve as the tertiary care referral center for the entire state of Indiana, and IU Health has one of the largest fleet of helicopter medical transport services in the nation with a dedicated Lifeline maternal transport program.

The MFM Division has a record of ongoing production of basic science, clinical/translational, and epidemiologic research, including membership in the Nulliparous Network of the NICHD. In addition, we have long-standing partnerships with the prestigious Regenstrief Institute for informatics and healthcare research in Indianapolis. Faculty are expected to be active participants in the Departmental and Divisional teaching program, which includes 41 residents and 350 Indiana University medical students annually.

Qualifications:
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Obstetrics/Gynecology AND Maternal-Fetal Medicine
  • Strong interest in clinical medicine, teaching and/or research
  • Additional fellowship and training in fetal intervention required (TTTS, vesicoamniotic shunting, etc.)
  • Physician MD/DO licensed in Indiana or eligible for medical licensure in Indiana
