The Guthrie Clinic seeks a Chief Medical Officer, Population Health. The position of Chief Medical Officer, Population Health is accountable for organizational success in value-based care.Our multi-specialty group practice of more than 366 physicians and 302 advanced practice providers offers 47 specialties through a regional office network providing primary and specialty care in 22 communities. The physician leader will work collaboratively with other leaders to improve the health outcomes of our patients, provide a better health care experience for patients and providers, and reduce the cost of health care.

The role of CMO, Population Health requires a physician with clinical and operational experience in an integrated health system to strategically plan and implement a program of value-based care to meet the future needs of population health.

The CMO is responsible for developing systems of care that will move the organization from an episodic based model of care to a model that manages health in a population. The physician will plan, organize and direct a program that ensures high quality patient care, interdisciplinary collaboration, team-based workflows, patient engagement, provider satisfaction and payment alignment. The system of care will be implemented in the medical group practice and will integrate with strategic, operation, and administrative initiatives in the hospital environment.

The CMO, Population Health will coordinate with finance, quality reporting and clinical informatics departments to create a culture of data driven practice redesign.

Qualifications:
  • Board Certified MD or DO, with an accredited residency completion, with 5 years of experience in leadership in an integrated health system. Experience in quality improvement, lean management systems and operational redesign is preferred.
  • Experience working with /leading physicians and staff with a diverse background and perspectives required
  • Healthplan experience preferred
  • Part time clinical practice required
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
  • A systems-oriented leader who can analyze complex scenarios and guide innovation

A 254-bed tertiary care referral center,Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, Pa., is the recipient of numerous national awards for the high quality care it provides to patients. The hospital is a Regional Level II Trauma Center, accredited by the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation, and is served by Guthrie Air, a regional aeromedical helicopter program.
