The Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the Duke University School of Medicine seeks an ABOS certified (or eligible) orthopaedic surgeon with fellowship training in sports medicine to join the Department at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor (tenure track).
The successful candidate must demonstrate excellence in the areas of clinical care and surgery, teaching, scholarly activity, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic needs of the department. It would be expected that the individual contribute to clinical and/or basic science research within sports medicine. In addition, the candidate would be expected to function as a team physician for area high schools and Duke University athletics. The ideal candidate will have a record of academic productivity/scholarly work or publications; have proven experience/competence in managing complex sports medicine cases/problems and an interest in teaching residents and fellows. Prior experience as a team physician or assistant team physician, or desire to provide coverage for community or competitive sports teams is required. Experience with pediatric sports medicine is preferred. Practice location may be Durham or Wake County or a combination of both given plans of growth in new markets.
Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.
