Title: Diagnostic Medical Physicist

Duties: The Diagnostic Medical Physicist at Cleveland Clinics Administrative Campus (25900 Science Park Drive/AC2, Beachwood, Ohio 44122) is responsible for clinical medical imaging, including evaluation, integration, and quality assurance, particularly for equipment used in general radiography and fluoroscopy. The position may include clinical research related to radiation dose optimization and image quality improvement. The Diagnostic Medical Physicist performs acceptance testing for newly installed equipment as well as annual equipment evaluation testing on mobile and stationary, radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging equipment to ensure regulatory requirements are met. He or she also performs radiation barrier surveys for stationary radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging equipment. The Diagnostic Medical physicist utilizes electronic test equipment and radiation measurement instrumentation. Up to 25% overnight travel may be required.
Requirements: Master of Science degree in Medical Physics, Biophysics, Physics or a related discipline; Board Certification in Diagnostic Medical Physics by the American Board of Radiology; and two (2) years of experience in the medical physics field. Experience to include: Acceptance testing, utilizing electronic test equipment for newly installed imaging equipment; annual equipment evaluation testing on mobile and stationary, radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging equipment to ensure regulatory compliance; and working with radiation measurement instrumentation and luminescent dosimeters to perform radiation barrier surveys for stationary radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging equipment.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience ($145,000 per year)
