Job Details

Northwell Health Department of Medicine seeks a Director of Palliative Care for Huntington Hospital. The ideal candidate should be a Board-Certified Palliative Care physician with at least three years post training and have an interest in the clinical and administrative oversight of the geriatric and palliative medicine program. This role will work closely with an interdisciplinary team including a social worker, nurse practitioner, and physical therapist support to provide comprehensive care to patients with advancing illness. The Physician will work with consultants and staff to manage pain, symptoms, address goals of care and treatment plans, and to provide guidance and education to patients and families.

Established in 1916, Huntington Hospital is a full-service, 408-bed, nonprofit community hospital serving Huntington Township and surrounding communities. Huntington Hospital was also awarded with Advanced Certification for Palliative Care from the Joint Commission. Also, the second hospital in Suffolk county with Care Giver center to connect those caring for the chronically ill with programs and resources that can relieve their burden. The center will work within the hospital to help families with ongoing care after discharge.

Salary Disclosure

Full-time clinical base compensation at Northwell Health ranges from $125K to $750K, which is impacted by various factors, including but not limited to physician specialty, level of experience, quality of care, academic accomplishments, patient experience and productivity. The base compensation range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
