Duke's Division of Hematology within the Department of Medicine has a primary focus on non-malignant Hematologic disease. Our clinical and research programs are expanding, and we are actively seeking a new junior to mid-career faculty member interested in being part of a vibrant, dynamic program. Key clinical and research strengths within Duke Hematology include programs in:
We are seeking faculty members with a focus on clinical practice, as well as a passion for the educational and/or research components of an academic practice. Candidates with an interest in building clinical and translational research programs to complement the basic research programs within the Division are encouraged to apply. Teaching opportunities are available across the spectrum of learners from the Hematology/Oncology fellows, to interns and residents in Internal Medicine, to our amazing medical students.
Unique opportunities available through Duke Hematology include direct involvement with the clinical laboratory services ( Coagulation and Platelet Antibody Laboratories, and the Transfusion Service ); participation in the apheresis service; a robust clinical research program; access to the Hemostasis & Thrombosis Core Laboratory in support of research efforts; interface with Pediatrics and other interdisciplinary collaborations, including a transition clinic with pediatrics for patients with sickle cell disease, a shared clinic with maternal fetal medicine, and an expanding clinical program throughout Duke University Health System.
