NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi is renowned for The Trauma Center, staffed to treat any traumatic injury or illness, the fully accredited Breast Health Center, and The Burn Center, with more than 40 years of work in burn care. The hospital also serves patients of many other needs. The hospital maintains an academic affiliation with Albert Einstein Medical College of Yeshiva University.

Responsibilities:

The Department of Medicine at Jacobi Medical Center is recruiting a geriatrician to help us enhance the care of our elderly population. We are located in the North Bronx caring for a diverse and often vulnerable population. The position will be focused on the care of our ambulatory patients working with a group of dedicated primary care internists where clinical care is integrated with the education of our internal medicine residents and students. Other team members will include geriatric psychologists and psychiatrists.

The position comes with a faculty appointment at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Teaching responsibilities include both didactic and clinical teaching of medical students and residents. The selected candidate will work to create innovative educational experiences in the training of individuals caring for a growing aging population. The ideal candidate will be Board Certified in Internal Medicine and have completed an accredited geriatric fellowship. At least 3 years of clinical exper ie nce post fellowship is preferred. An interest in being a team player and innovator is essential as we further develop this aspect of our service.

Qualifications:

  • Board Certification in Internal Medicine
  • Board Certification or Eligibility in Geriatrics
  • Possess or eligible for a New York State Medical License
  • At least 3 years of clinical exper ie nce post fellowship is preferred
