The successful candidate will join the Department and Division as Assistant or Associate Professor in the Medical Center Line. Faculty rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the Medical Center Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.
A successful candidate will have a MD, D,O or equivalent, or MD/PhD, with board certification or board eligibility in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine as well as Pediatrics.
The successful candidate will join a faculty of over 30 pediatric intensivists who provide clinical care, perform clinical and basic science research, and mentor 15 critical care fellows. Extensive opportunities exist for research collaborations with investigators at the School of Medicine and other departments/schools at Stanford University. Excellence in scholarship is required, and we are particularly interested in candidates with track records of productivity or promise to establish an investigator-initiated research program. Eligible candidates will receive adequate startup funds, administrative space, protected time for research, and strong mentorship to develop research programs. Each candidate will determine the specific focus of their research program, but those with a research focus on provider well-being and quality of care will be considered desirable.
The Division's activities are multidisciplinary, cutting-edge, focusing on family-centered patient care spanning several Pediatric Intensive Care Units across the Greater Bay Area. The 36-bed unit at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital provides care for diverse children with a broad range of high-acuity, high-complexity critical cases, including ACS Level I Trauma Care, high-volume solid organ and bone marrow transplantation, gene, and stem cell therapies, brain and other organ tumors, and cancer immunotherapy. The Division participates in the education of pediatric residents, emergency medicine residents, pediatric critical care fellows in ACGME-accredited training programs, as well as the medical, undergraduate and graduate bioscience students from Stanford University.
Applications will be reviewed beginning immediately and accepted until the position is filled.
