Kelsey-Seybold Clinic is Houston's premier multispecialty group practice, founded in 1949 by Dr. Mavis Kelsey in Houston's famous Texas Medical Center. More than 450 physicians and allied health professionals practice at 24 locations and an accredited Sleep Center in the Greater Houston area. Medical services offered by Kelsey-Seybold include medical care in 55 medical specialties including primary care and specialty care, outpatient surgery centers, an accredited Sleep Center, a Radiation Therapy Center, laboratory services, advanced radiology services and other diagnostic services, 15 on-site Kelsey pharmacies, and a secure web portal for patients to communicate with their Kelsey-Seybold doctors, get test results and schedule appointments.

Physician - Rheumatologist

At the Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, a Rheumatologist is expected to be able to, in a compassionate and professional manner, obtain a complete medical history, document efficiently in an electronic medical record, use diagnostic laboratory and imaging testing, and diagnose and manage a wide variety of rheumatological conditions. The practice of evidence-based medicine and the judicious use of diagnostic tools, with consideration to utility and cost containment, are required and an essential part of Kelsey-Seybold's modus operandi. Skills to courteously and respectfully interact with patients, staff and colleagues, are also qualities highly appreciated in the Department of Rheumatology.

The scope of the practice is general adult Rheumatology and the practitioner will work in the ambulatory care setting with limited and periodic in-hospital consultation duties.

All members of the Department of Rheumatology are assigned to at least three clinic locations, in order to provide Rheumatology care in a timely fashion to most of the Greater Houston Metropolitan area. A new member will be required to practice in clinics located in the Northeast Region and the typical daily schedule goes from 8 AM to 5 PM. After-hour call will be shared with other members of the Rheumatology Department after being triaged by the call center.

Requires a BC/BE Rheumatologist with Texas licensure and graduate from an approved training program in the United States.
