Providence Alaska Medical Center has an opening for a compassionate full-time Mental Health Therapist to join its dedicated behavioral health team, providing patient care and crisis management. You'll deliver empathetic support to patients and draw on theory and experience to provide a variety of therapeutic sessions and interventions specific to clients and families. Collaborate with the Medical Director and clinical staff with problem solving and planning at treatment plan meetings, establishing positive working relationships and role models health communication skills to help improve patient lives. In this role, you will help patients progress in their treatment by making ongoing assessments of mental health status and documenting a thorough evaluation centered around each patient's plan of care. The ideal candidate will actively solicit parents and family members to become part of the treatment process. - Full-time; clinic day schedule
- Masters or doctoral degree in psychology, social work, or health-related field
- Current State of Alaska license as: Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
- Two years' experience providing family or individual therapy
- Strong foundational knowledge of comprehensive mental health issues in both theory and practice
- Knowledge, training, and experience utilizing assessment techniques, and evidence-based interventions for specific populations
