Job Details

The Cleveland Clinic, a distinguished academic healthcare system, Respiratory Institute announces its search for a physician or scientist to lead a research initiative focusing on the relationship between inflammation and fibrosis. The applicant will be expected to lead an independent research laboratory in the Lerner Research Institute, which has nearly 200 independent investigators and an annual budget of $307 million (2019). We are looking for a talented scientist focused on preclinical or translational aspects of lung diseases involving inflammation and fibrosis. Research that can be applied to granulomatous fibrosis will be especially welcomed, but is not mandatory. The Lerner Research Institute has a strong tradition of collaborative research and well-developed training programs for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. The individual could be appointed at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Staff level (equivalent to Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, respectively). A significant start-up package is available to establish the laboratory and permit exploration of novel hypotheses that eventuate in extramural funding applications.

This dynamic position commands a competitive salary enhanced by an attractive benefits package including medical malpractice coverage and a collegial work environment. A faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with experience is available at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.
