Practice Information

The Divisions of Orthopedic Surgery and Plastic Surgery at Intermountain Health Care are seeking a hand surgery specialist with expertise in all aspects of hand and wrist surgery. This position is supported in conjunction with the Intermountain Medical Center. The ideal candidate would either be board eligible in orthopedic surgery and trained in a plastic surgery hand fellowship, or board eligible in plastic surgery and fellowship trained in an orthopedic surgery hand fellowship.

This competitively salaried position entails multiple responsibilities, both clinical and administrative. The primary clinical responsibility of this surgeon would be to participate, lead, and administer an acute hand care service. The service would be supported with the assistance of advanced practice practitioners and aided by the participation of physician members of a large hand trauma call panel.

Additional clinical opportunities will be available within the Musculoskeletal Clinical Program High Value Network of Orthopedic Physicians. This will allow the candidate access to the elective hand surgery population as well as the above-mentioned urgent patients. Additional clinical opportunities will be available and supported in lower extremity reconstruction and peripheral nerve surgery should the candidate desire.

The primary administrative responsibilities of the candidate will include participation in weekly meetings of the Musculoskeletal Clinical Program, coordinating the care services of additional hand surgeons on the hand call panel, and directing system-wide best practices for management of acutely injured extremities.

This position has been created with the combined efforts of the Associate Medical Directors of the Plastic Surgery Division and the Hand, Wrist, and Elbow Subdivision of the Musculoskeletal Clinical Program. As such, the new hire will be expected to interface with these departments to help unify their efforts, developing best practices for care of the traumatically injured hand.
  • Employment position with the Intermountain Medical Group
  • Full Intermountain benefits that include company contribution to 401k, CME, and more
  • Relocation provided, up to 15K
