Mount Auburn Hospital, a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital serving the greater Cambridge, Massachusetts metropolitan area, is seeking an innovative physician leader who is experienced in medical education, to serve as the Chair of the Department of Medical Education.
Education is one of the central missions of our institution which has training programs in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Radiology, Urogynecology, and Podiatry; and affiliated programs in Emergency Medicine. It is a training site for Harvard and other medical students, as well as physician assistant and nursing programs.
This position has several responsibilities including serving as the Designated Institutional Official (DIO) for all graduate medical education programs, and oversight of all undergraduate, graduate, and continuing medical education programs; and ensuring their educational integrity and conformity with external regulations, and conducting and promoting medical education research.
The Chair is a permanent member of the hospital’s Medical Staff Executive Committee. The Chair is responsible for promoting faculty development and inter-professional education at Mount Auburn Hospital. Preference will be given to individuals with substantial experience leading medical education programs.
This position is open to faculty in any of the specialties in which Mount Auburn Hospital has training programs. To be considered, the candidate should be eligible for a faculty appointment at Harvard Medical School at the Assistant Professor level or above. Qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
