Nuvance Health, formerly known as Western Connecticut Health Network, is seeking a full-time Advanced Heart Failure Specialist to join us at Danbury and Norwalk Hospitals as we expand advanced cardiac services throughout our network. We are located in suburban Fairfield County, Connecticut, about 50 miles outside of New York City. 

The ideal candidate will be board certified in Cardiology and board certified/eligible in Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology and looking to collaborate with our CHF specialists across our larger 7-hospital system and in partnership with an academic medical center. We offer a highly competitive compensation package, including base salary plus incentives and allowances for CMEs and Dues expenses as well as a relocation stipend.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with the larger network CHF team and academic medical center
  • In and outpatient consultation for Danbury and Norwalk patient populations
  • Management of patients on mechanical support in inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Continued management of readmission reduction and CHF care pathways
  • Continued education for network providers/trainees on relevant and practical CHF topics

Danbury Hospital’s Emergency Department is an accredited Level II Trauma Center, a Stroke Center and a Chest Pain Center, offering 24-hour interventional cardiology. Cardiac services at the hospital include Nuclear Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Arrhythmia Center, and a robust cardiac surgical program. A comprehensive multidisciplinary structural heart program provides state-of the-art-care for our patients. Norwalk Hospital, a Level II Trauma Center, is accredited as a Stroke Center and certified to provide Emergency Angioplasty for heart attack.

Established in 1885, Danbury Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital providing Greater Danbury area residents convenient access to exceptional care. Danbury Hospital has 371 beds and approximately 70,000 ED visits per year. Norwalk Hospital has 366 beds and approximately 50,000 ED visits per year. Both Danbury and Norwalk are teaching hospitals, associated with the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Ross University, American University of the Caribbean, and Yale School of Medicine. Our employed Medical Group includes 900+ physicians and advanced practice providers, serving a geographically broad region throughout Western Connecticut and eastern New York.

Danbury, Connecticut, located in Fairfield County, is about 60 miles northeast of New York City and 60 miles west of Hartford, CT. As part of the greater NY metropolitan area, the city of Danbury enjoys both proximity to New York City culture and access to a wide array of outdoor activities. Surrounded by a number of quaint towns, the area offers a variety of excellent housing and highly rated schools. Boston, New York City, New Haven, and Hartford are easily accessible via car or train.
