Duke Division of Geriatrics, internationally recognized for its research and education programs, is seeking a scholar whose research and teaching apply to issues of health services research and implementation science in populations with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. Mid-career researchers are especially encouraged to apply.

Duke's Geriatric faculty collaborate closely with other clinical departments and institutes across the School of Medicine and University. Division faculty lead the Duke Center for the Study of Aging and Human Development, an all-university program with 126 faculty members from a broad spectrum of departments. The Division also has close ties with the Durham VA Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Center and Health Services Research and Development Center of Innovation (COIN). Together these form a robust and supportive intellectual community of researchers working in clinical/translational research, epidemiology, health services research, health measurement and implementation science to improve the lives of older adults.

Position Requirements:
  • A clinical or doctoral degree in a relevant discipline (medicine, nursing, social sciences, health services research, public health, population health sciences, etc.)
  • Experience in health services and implementation science focused on populations with Dementia or cognitive impairment
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct scholarly research
  • Experience mentoring pre- and post-doctoral students
  • Highly self-motivated individual, enthusiastic about scientific discovery and able to collaborate closely and effectively with other members of a research team
  • Demonstrated ability or potential to secure external funding
  • Excellent verbal, written, and oral communication skills
