Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) is conducting a national search for the dual role of Director of the BIDMC Cancer Center and Senior Vice President of Cancer Services at Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH). Candidates must fulfill criteria for Professorial appointment at Harvard Medical School.

We seek to recruit a visionary leader who will expand cancer research and cancer clinical care at BIDMC and BILH. This individual will also represent BIDMC as a member institution in the Dana‐Farber/Harvard Cancer Center (DF/HCC), the Harvard‐wide NCI‐designated comprehensive cancer center. The Director/SVP will be an executive leader who will set the clinical, scientific, and strategic direction for the full continuum of cancer services at BIDMC and BILH. The Director/SVP will have a substantial record of scholarship in cancer‐related research and a national/international reputation as a thought leader in cancer. The Director/SVP will also contribute to the education and training mission of BIDMC and Harvard Medical School. This position entails an 80% commitment to the role of Director of the BIDMC Cancer Center, in keeping with requirements for a full‐time appointment at Harvard Medical School, and a 20% commitment to the role of Senior Vice President of Cancer Services at BILH.

BILH includes 10 major locations in Eastern Massachusetts treating more than 10,000 new cancer cases each year, and with over $63 million in annual direct costs supporting basic, translational, and clinical cancer research and discovery. Our vision at BIDMC and as an integrated health system is to maintain and enhance our national leadership position in cancer care and cutting‐edge discovery.
