ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, PEDIATRIC EMERGENCY PSYCHIATRY

Northwell Health - Cohen Children’s Medical Center, New Hyde Park NY

Northwell Health is recruiting a full-time board certified child and adolescent psychiatrist to be the Associate Director of the Pediatric Emergency Psychiatry Service at the Cohen Children’s Medical Center in New Hyde Park.

We are seeking applicants with outstanding clinical and managerial skills who have a passion for leadership and innovation. 

This is a unique opportunity to join the leadership team of the region’s largest Pediatric Emergency Psychiatry Service which includes the Behavioral Health Emergency Service embedded in the Pediatric Emergency Department and the Pediatric Behavioral Health Urgent Care – a hospital based ambulatory crisis service that provides walk in assessments and short term crisis care. Large multidisciplinary team includes physicians, nurse practitioners, social workers, licensed mental health counselors, nurses, patient engagement specialists, and trainees in multiple disciplines. The associate director will work with the leadership team including the director, assistant nurse manager, program coordinator, and administrative supports.

Responsibilities include clinician recruitment, education, supervision, trainees, performance management, quality and process improvement, as well as continuous collaboration with pediatrics and behavioral health leaders across the health system.

Applicants must have at least two years of emergency psychiatry experience, excellent management skills, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry BC.

Salary Disclosure

Full-time clinical base compensation at Northwell Health ranges from $125K to $750K, which is impacted by various factors, including but not limited to physician specialty, level of experience, quality of care, academic accomplishments, patient experience and productivity. The base compensation range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
