Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
Employee works under the supervision of the Commander of the Health Clinic. Employee works with full professional responsibilities for his/her actions and advice. Carries out duties in accordance with the accepted standard of care and in accordance with established military rules and regulations. Board certification with progressive experience and demonstrated expertise equivalent in breadth and intensity is required. Responsible for the examination, diagnosis and treatment of the full range of patients seen in the clinic.

- Perform pre-placement evaluations for prevention of occupational injuries and illness.
- Evaluate and provide medical preparations for employees traveling and/or deploying to other parts of the world.
- Perform physical examinations/evaluations and laboratory tests to the various occupational exposures encountered by employees.
- Examine employee with personal medical conditions, which interrupt or interfere with their work.
- Manage the Hearing Conservation and Occupational Vision Program as required for medical surveillance within the Occupational Health Clinic.
- Maintain liaison with private health care providers to ensure proper placement or disposition of employees.
- Conduct and arrange for ergonomic evaluations in coordination with industrial hygiene.
- Implement delegated personnel management responsibilities; interview and select personnel for vacancies, and approves annual and sick leave.
Qualifications
US Citizenship Required
Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy from a school in the United States or Canada approved by a recognized accrediting body in the year of the applicants graduation. [A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school that provided education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United States may be demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) (or a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country).]
Graduate Training: Subsequent to obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree, a candidate must have had at least 1 year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting, i.e., a 1-year internship or the first year of a residency program in an institution accredited for such training.
Specialized Experience:3 years of residency training in the specialty of the position to be filled or equivalent experience and training.
Licensure: For positions involving patient care, candidates must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
