The Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM) seeks a qualified family physician to join the faculty of our newly ACGME-approved 6/6/6 Family Medicine Residency program.

We are looking for an inclusive leader who is seeking an opportunity to grow with our expanding department. Our ideal candidate is a collaborative, team-minded clinician educator with a passion for providing high quality, patient-centered, evidence-based care to a diverse population. We are seeking someone who is courageous and dynamic while sharing our commitment to equity, integrity, communication, innovation, and creativity.

The Department of Family and Community Medicine at LKSOM has been serving the community for over 120 years and currently has seven core faculty members who are based at its main site at the Temple University Health Sciences Campus and an extensive number of adjunct, associate, and affiliate members in our community. The Department is known both for its partnerships and outreach programs with the North Philadelphia community within which it is imbedded and for its integrated community-health care programs that improve health and reduce cost of care.

Candidate Qualifications

  • An MD or DO or foreign equivalent. Board Certified/ Board Eligible by the American Board of Family Medicine
  • Credentials for a faculty appointment at the minimum level of Assistant Professor.
  • Superior emotional intelligence and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to the culture, needs, and aspirations of the community.
  • Candidates should be an active participant in local or national organizations and/or committees.
  • Must be able to obtain a unrestricted medical license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania prior to start date.
  • Maternity/OB experience is preferred.
