Indiana University Health Ball Memorialis opening a new orthopedic office in Muncie, IN!

IU Health is seeking a General Orthopedic Surgeon to join our growing orthopedic team. The practice will also include at least two total joint orthopedic surgeons, one primary care sports medicine physician, APPs, and there are future plans to add additional orthopedic physicians.

Position Details:
  • General Orthopedic Surgeon
  • About 50% outpatient / 50% Inpatient
    • Perform 8-12 procedures per week
    • Most procedures will be general orthopedics, arthroscopies, soft tissue repairs, etc.
    • See 60+ patients per week
  • Schedule:
    • Full Time, Monday-Friday
    • Call:
      • As of now, there is limited call which will provide a great work/life balance. Only IP call will be for an urgent pain or wound need relevant to an elective patient the TJ surgeon operates on.
      • Another physician group currently provides internal call coverage in the ED and is responsible for all Ortho Trauma. As the practice grows, a new call rotation will be established.
  • IU Health has strong existing infrastructure and is the region's largest primary care referral base which will help build this practice quickly
  • Willingness to accept learners, no research requirements
  • Main Work Locations: IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital (the region's largest referral center) and Ball's Outpatient Surgery Center in Muncie, Indiana
  • Strong compensation and benefit package

  • DO or MD
  • Current residents, fellows, and practicing candidates encouraged to apply

  • Ability to become licensed in Indiana
