The University of Florida Department of Medicine is seeking applications for a full-time clinician-research track position for the Division of Hematology/Oncology at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level. This position seeks an ABIM certified (or eligible) medical oncologist with experience in managing patients with GI cancers and an active interest in the development and conduct of clinical trials.

This individual will have a clinical assignment, but will also be expected to develop, conduct, and participate in clinical trials focused on translational research and innovative technologies and treatments that focus on patients with gastrointestinal malignancies. These cancers include, but are not limited to, the following: esophagus, stomach, pancreatic, biliary, neuroendocrine, hepatic, colorectal, and anus. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate in a variety of activities including sub-specialty and multi-disciplinary GI cancer clinic at the UF Health main campus, cancer case and research conferences, and disease-specific clinical trials.

The UF Department of Medicine boasts an impressive faculty who are national leaders of treatment and research in multiple disciplines, including cancer and associated sub-specialties.

Resources available for professional development at the University of Florida Health Sciences Center include leadership, education, and research training through support from the UF Health Cancer Center, Clinical Translational Science Institute (CTSI), formal mentorship programs, and supported opportunities for teaching and research. Clinical research support for this position is provided by the UF Health Cancer Center Clinical Research Office, which includes a full-service suite of clinical research staff, protocol development writers, and regulatory specialists to assist clinical investigator faculty. Requisite attributes include a commitment to service, good verbal and written communication skills, a strong sense of teamwork, and a desire to improve the care of cancer patients through clinical research and scientific discoveries.

Tenure accruing and non-tenure accruing tracks are available. Rank and tenure status will be commensurate with qualifications. Salary is negotiable, commensurate with education and experience.

Qualifications: Applicants must be board-certified or board-eligible in Medical Oncology and be eligible for a Florida Medical License.
