Duke Health and the Duke Cancer Network are recruiting additional General Hematology-Oncology physicians for two of its affiliated community cancer centers. Hired physicians will see patients four days/week with one day/week dedicated to administrative/academic activities such as community-based clinical research. Inpatient call is consultative only, with no rounding responsibilities.

Duke Cancer Network (DCN) has delivered world-class cancer care to their community partners for many years, translating clinical research findings into the most advanced therapies for their patients. DCN is comprised of five Durham-based physicians, seven community-based physicians, and six APP's. In conjunction with clinical care and education, DCN provides research, regulatory and business operations support.

Practice Locations:

Scotland Cancer Treatment Center, located in Laurinburg, NC offers both Duke-affiliated medical and radiation oncology, a breast cancer multidisciplinary clinic, clinical trials, new radiation therapy linear accelerator and simulator, a spacious chemotherapy suite, and full-time social worker available for their patients.

Gibson Cancer Center, located in Lumberton, NC has affiliated with the Duke Cancer Network for over 30 years. Gibson's Cancer Center makes outpatient cancer treatment more convenient for residents of the community and surrounding area by providing on-site radiation oncology, pharmacy, social worker, access to clinical trials, and dedicated research nurse.

Both communities are located in the Coastal plain region of NC. The Lumberton-Laurinburg CSA (population of 170K) is within 40 minutes of several metro areas and 1.5 to 2 hours to Raleigh-Durham and Charlotte. With a temperate, but seasonal climate, southeastern North Carolina offers many opportunities to enjoy year-round outdoor activities and is just a short drive to the golfing mecca of Pinehurst, the port city of Wilmington, and Myrtle Beach - each offering wonderful dining experiences and unique shops.

Come practice with the Duke Cancer Network where modern healthcare facilities, an array of educational institutions, convenient parks and recreational sites, friendly neighborhoods with affordable housing, and a broad range of art and cultural activities make for enjoyable, comfortable living.
